I’m Joe and I’m a third-year HSPS student at Churchill, with a particular interest on Middle Eastern politics and US foreign policy. I’m delighted to have a part in the founding of CSPS, although it’s something I’m amazed didn’t exist already - a college with as many links, both historically and contemporarily, to political debate should have a strong and visible student politics scene. Even in my last few months at Cambridge, I’m very excited to start getting people discussing important issues, attending brilliant talks, as well as submitting their writing to be published on our brand new website. I know how much talent there is at this university in political writing, and we at CSPS are determined to shine a light on it in an accessible, interactive way

I'm Bella, a second year HSPS student from London, specialising in Politics and Sociology. I'm especially interested in social and climate justice, and hope Churchill Politics can be a space where intersections are explored and marginalised voices given a space to speak. I'm excited to get started with CSPS. 

Hi, my name is Ella and I am a second-year History and Politics. I applied to Churchill, knowing it was decked in Cambridge’s more unconventional history: founded on the tenets of forwardness and, among the first batch of three colleges to accept females alongside its male undergraduates. The Archives Centre and its connections to some of Britain’s biggest political powerhouses are a hugely important asset to our college. Having completed research with the Centre, I believe that it places us in brilliant stead to host a society dedicated to political sciences. I hope that CPSC will provide a platform to harness our unique position as a modern, Cambridge college which, despite being primarily focused on sciences, reserves a critical place for political reflection.

I’m Scarlett, a first year HSPSer from Cornwall. Coming to Churchill, I was really surprised that we did not have a politics society. I am elated to be a part of launching the Churchill Politics Society and hope we will create an inclusive space where our thriving political community can engage with the most pressing issues of our time. I’m Katie, a second year History and Politics student from Manchester. I’m currently the chair of the Labour club at Cambridge, but maintain that chupolsoc is my first love. In my spare time I also run the twitter for feminist campaign Our Streets Now.

I'm Osa, a 3rd Year HSPS student specialising in Politics and International Relations. I'm currently writing my dissertation on political economy of banditry in north-west Nigeria.
